Project
Management Tenders
Before
discussing Project Management Tenders, let’s try to define various

whereby a centralized authority manages project activities. The
tender is the formal document by which an acquirer (a buyer) calls
for tenders from potential developers (sellers). And, Tender
Evaluation is another term for source selection. While
Time-and-Materials Contract is one in which the developer is paid to
perform work based on the reimbursement of effort and
resources.
Apart from just
managing current projects, another great responsibility for project
manager is to participate in various Project Management Tenders.

This
Professional Services Agreement is intended to supply Sydney
Catchment Authority (SCA) with project management services to manage
the delivery of a works package at the Warragamba Dam site
consisting of:
(a) Upgrading
the water supply outlets;
(b) A general
overhaul of electrical gear;
(c) Upgrading
of the Lifts and Hoists; and
(d) The
refurbishment of the Crest Crane.
("The Works"
and individually "the Work").
These Works are
required to ensure compliance with SCA's strategic, operational and
safety requirements for Project Management
Tenders.
SCA operates
Warragamba Dam ("the Dam") and associated infrastructure for the
supply of around 80% of the raw water for treatment and delivery to
the consumers in Sydney. The outlets from the Dam
feed into two pipelines that convey the water to the supply canal at
Prospect, with the water eventually reaching Prospect Water
Filtration Plant.
The project
management services required under this Contract will consist of
duties to be performed by the service provider ("The Contractor") in
order to procure and/or finalize all outstanding studies, designs
and supporting documentation to enable the Works to be implemented.
The Contractor shall proceed to deliver the Works by assisting with
the tendering process (where necessary), contract management and
supervision of various Works contracts, including commissioning,
hand-over and post implementation
reviews.
The Works are
to be managed as four (4) separate capital works packages for
financial accounting and reporting purposes, and these will be
designated as:
· C25102
Warragamba Dam - Outlet Valve Upgrade
· C25105
Warragamba Dam - Electrical Upgrade
· C25106
Warragamba Dam - Lifts and Hoists
Upgrade
· C25107
Warragamba Dam - Refurbishment of Crest
Crane
The Sydney
Catchment Authority was in the tendering process with Works package
C25106 (Lifts & Hoist Upgrade). The supply of the lifts and
hoists was expected to be received by October 2003 after which time
the Contractor will supervise and administer the installation of the
lifts and hoists.
